Context
The client requested a series of microlearnings be created from a course that was being discontinued ("Community-led Action in Response to Violent Extremism"). Microlearnings were chosen as a medium in order to increase retention and accessibility by end-users, while providing key information from the foundational course.
Action
In order to determine which content would be transitioned into microlearnings, course content was reviewed and chunked into topics. After consultation with the client, material was storyboarded, underwent SME review and revision, and then microlearnings were built using Captivate 2019.
Results
Three microlearnings were developed, covering the topics: Defining Violent Acts: Hate Crimes, Targeted Violence, and Terrorism; The Promises and Challenges of Violent Extremism; and, The Spectrum of Countering Violent Extremism. These microlearnings are currently posted on the client's public-facing website.
